Careers

Creative, Fast Paced, Rewarding

Looking for a career at WATT? Follow these three steps.

Step 1. Can you answer "yes" to one or more of these questions?

  • Are you looking for a non-traditional, progressive, growing PR and marketing shop to call home?
  • Do you like working with staff that feel (and in some cases are) family?
  • Are you looking for a creative outlet to let your imagination run free?
  • Do you want to experience something new every day?
  • Do you want to learn about PR and marketing at an accelerated pace?

If you didn't answer "yes" to any of these questions we're probably not the right fit for each other.

Step 2. Do you have ALL of these qualities?

  • Flexible — If you're looking for a traditional 9 to 5 we are not right for you. But we also don't burn you out. We're flexible with our clients' schedules and you should be too. Most of the time you will be working from our main office in downtown Cleveland but sometimes you need "quiet time" to get a writing assignment done or to just think by yourself . . . that's when you can work from home, no problem. If situations dictate you wish to work from home regularly, don't fret, we can accommodate you since our operational technology is highly virtualized.
  • Committed — We are passionate about providing the ultimate client service. This requires commitment and sacrifice (i.e., sometimes you might need to work on the weekends).
  • Creative — We welcome new thoughts all the time from our staff . . . about everything. Whether it be a suggestion on how to more efficiently run our purchasing processes or conduct better outreach to new business prospects, we are all ears!
  • Honest - We won't bullsh*t you. And don't bullsh*t us! Things have a tendency to work better that way internally (amongst staff and team members) and externally (amongst clients).
  • Curious - We've noticed the people that best fit into our shop have an impassioned sense of curiosity . . . and not just about PR and marketing . . . about everything. We look for people who read books, newspapers and blogs daily, are up to date about current events and have broad interests.
  • Tough - People who best fit with us are thicker-skinned, take constructive criticism and handle stressful situations with aplomb.
  • Persistent - Our work requires a lot of drive to reach internal and external objectives. We consider the word "no" a minor speed bump in the process of going from point A to B.
  • Self-driven - We have a "baptism by fire" training style. That's neither good nor bad. But, it can be daunting for some people. We expect and let you make mistakes because we know that's the only way to ultimately learn and grow. We do have processes in place for training on specific services and initiatives but don't expect someone to hold your hand.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you don't have all of these qualities we're definitely not the right fit for each other.

Step 3. Attach your resume to careers@watt-co.com and tell us — 150 words or less in the body of the email — why you want to work at WATT.

  • It's our policy to review all emails sent to careers@watt-co.com and file all resumes.
  • We will call or email you if we feel there is a fit.

Thank you for your interest in working with us.
We wish you the very best with your job search and, perhaps, our paths will cross one day!
